Ikeja LG Boss Attends Premiere Of “Elekó (Oba Esugbayi)”

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Saturday, 4th April 2026, attended the premiere of Elekó (Oba Esugbayi) held at the Ikeja City Mall, Alausa.

The movie, produced by veteran filmmaker Jide Kosoko, highlights a historic narrative of kingship, resistance, and cultural heritage.

The Council Chairman was accompanied by contingents from Ikeja Local Government, including the Head of Tourism Department, Mrs. Awolusi; the Chief of Staff to Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Dr. Bayo Ayo; the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Chief Adeyi Adeniyi; the Ikeja LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Adetoro Adebowale, alongside other notable stakeholders and dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Akeem Dauda reiterated the importance of supporting the creative industry as a veritable tool for cultural preservation, youth engagement, and economic development. He commended the producers and cast for showcasing a rich aspect of Lagos history and reaffirmed the commitment of Ikeja Local Government to initiatives that promote arts and tourism.

The event attracted a large audience of film enthusiasts, stakeholders, and residents, further reinforcing Ikeja’s position as a hub for culture and entertainment.
