OLALEKAN ONI
The Akeem Olalekan Dauda Educational Initiative (AKOD-EI) has officially flagged off the screening exercise for the distribution of 200 free GCE forms, an initiative of the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD).
The exercise, which commenced around 11:00 am, saw indigent students from across Ikeja trooping in with their LASSRA IDs and NIN cards — the required criteria for eligibility. For many, it was a moment of hope and relief, as this initiative offers a golden opportunity to further their education without financial barriers.
Addressing the students, the Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda encouraged them to take their studies seriously and prepare to excel in their forthcoming examinations. He urged them to be good ambassadors of Ikeja, assuring them that education remains one of his administration’s top priorities.
He further announced that all beneficiaries will enjoy free tutorial classes to aid their preparation. In addition, the best-performing candidate in this year’s GCE will be rewarded with a scholarship award under the AKOD Educational Initiative, as a way of motivating excellence and rewarding hard work.
This initiative is another bold step that demonstrates Comrade Dauda’s genuine commitment to the educational growth and empowerment of Ikeja youths, in line with his developmental blueprint, the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA.
