The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today attended the Mother, Infant and Child Development (MICHD) Programme held at the Yeye Kemi Nelson Primary Health Care Centre, Ikeja.

The programme, organized by the Lagos State Government through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement in collaboration with the Lagos State Health District VI, is part of the state’s continuous effort to promote maternal, infant, and child health across communities.

In his remarks, the Ikeja Council Boss commended the initiative, describing it as a critical intervention that aligns with the health component of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, which emphasizes inclusive governance, better healthcare services, and improved quality of life for all residents.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery and ensuring that mothers and children in Ikeja have access to quality medical attention.
The Chairman also applauded the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for sustaining people-centered programmes that directly improve community wellbeing.

In attendance with the Chairman were the Vice Chairman, Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Odubeko; and the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Tawak.
The event featured free medical consultations, immunizations, health talks, and the distribution of essential maternal and child health items to nursing and expectant mothers.
