In the spirit of good sportsmanship, grassroots leader in Amuwo-Odofin LGA, and a chairmanship aspirant in the just concluded All Progressives Congress primaries, Hon. Folorunso Ola Western, has congratulated the APC chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government elections, Prince Lanre Sanusi.
Speaking to his campaign cordinators at a strategic meeting held at his campaign office on 32Road/3rd Avenue Junction, FESTAC Town, Ola Western expressed his confidence on the capacity of PLS to deliver the goods.
“It is from the deepest recess of my heart, that I gladly express my profound gratitude to all stakeholders of the state APC and Amuwo-Odofin chapters for the successful conduct of our party primaries, which saw the emergence of Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS) as the candidate of our party, having polled 16 votes out of a total of 24. My heartfelt congratulations to PLS, as I am left with no doubt that he will successfully stir the ship of our community to the shores of prosperity.”
The APC candidate for Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I in the 2023 house of assembly election, also noted that, _”it is instructive that as we practice party democracy in this clime, the victory of all successful candidates that emerged, from chairmanship to councilorship, is a victory for our great party, and as progressives and loyal members of APC, we must rally round our party and ensure it is successful in the forth coming local government elections. I therefore, find it obligatory to appreciate all other aspirants and fellow contestants for the chairmanship ticket, for displaying courage and embracing a healthy competition. In a contest like this, only a winner emerges yet, in the spirit of good sportsmanship, and as members of a political family we take it as a victory for all. Our party has spoken, and we must stand by it.”
While commending his teeming supporters for their steadfastness, Ola Western reiterated his commitment to grassroots development. _”I must commend the immeasurable support of my teeming supporters for standing tall with me till the end. Together, we fought the good fight of hope and faith. And having you solidly behind me all through as dependable partners in progress was an experience I will ever live to cherish. Today goes, tomorrow comes, but let our faith in Amuwo-Odofin never dwindle. *I am bound by a solemn covenant with you all and with our dear community, to continue to do all within my capacity to entrench transformative grassroots governance in Amuwo-Odofin LGA, God willing.* The struggle continues.”
The grassroots leader also expressed gratitude for the state leadership of the party. _”Permit me to use this opportunity to appreciate the leadership of our party at the state level for the successful and hitch-free conduct of the primaries. Our leaders have demonstrated a high sense of commitment to the growth and development of Lagos state, and for this they should be commended”.
Hon. Ola Western at the said meeting made a bold and daring move to express his desire for the party’s success at the forthcoming polls, and his support for PLS, by donating his campaign office to the latter.
“We look forward to the success of our party in the coming elections, and as part of our efforts to achieve the desired success, with the permission of our teeming supporters, represented in this meeting by their cordinators, I hereby donate my campaign office to pursue the campaigns of Prince Lanre Sanusi, and we integrate our campaign team into the campaign structure of PLS” Ola Western concluded.
