Flood Management & Control: ONC Embarks On Sensitization And Awareness Campaign 

Following cases of flooding, notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has concluded plans to embark on sensitisation and awareness campaign over flood management and control. 
The ONC is set for the noble initiative in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) South South Office.
The exercise, with the theme “Together For A Safer Tomorrow: Managing Flood Through Awareness and Action” is expected to take place on Saturday 8th November, 2025, at Ahoada East Local Government Secretariat, by 11am.
According to the Convener and ONC PG, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP), the following topics will be addressed at the event:
1. “Act Now, Stay Safe: Building a Flood-Resilient Orashi Region”
2. “Our Environment, Our Safety: Collective Action Against Flooding”
3. “Floods Can Be Prevented — Awareness Saves Lives”
4. “Empowering Communities for Effective Flood Preparedness and Response”
5. “Together for a Safer Tomorrow: Managing Floods Through Awareness and Action”
6. “Reducing the Impact of Floods Through Knowledge, Preparedness, and Unity”
7. “Don’t Wait for the Water to Rise — Prepare, Prevent, and Protect”
8. “Community Awareness: The Key to Flood Prevention and Resilience”
9. “From Awareness to Action: Building Flood-Ready Communities in Orashi”
Highly expected at the event as the Special Guest of Honour is the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Her Excellency Prof Ngozi Nma Odu. Also expected as Guests of Honour are Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma (Executive Chairman, Ahoada East LGA), Hon Eugene Chita Epelle JP (Executive Chairman, Ahoada West LGA), Hon Engr. Owolabi Ofori (Executive Chairman, Abua/Odual LGA), and Hon. Dr Chukwu Ogbogu Shedrack (Executive Chairman, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA).
