Crisis Rocking Lagos APC: Omoba Bisoye Oshodi (Balogun Eko) Speaks On Agege Protests

In the wake of recent protests labeled “Obasa Must Go,” especially gaining traction in Agege, I feel compelled to address the issues truthfully and clearly.

Let me begin by stating categorically: Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa is not the problem of Agege APC. The real issue lies much deeper—within the corridors of the party leadership at the ACME Secretariat. For too long, the Justice Forum has hijacked the party machinery, manipulating the system to impose local government chairmen from the top, against the will of the grassroots members. I raised the alarm as far back as January, but many chose to ignore it.

It is now convenient for some to shift blame to Obasa, but we must be honest with ourselves. When you talk about development in Agege, Rt. Hon. Obasa stands tall. He is the architect behind every major road project in Agege, including the iconic Pen Cinema Bridge. He has brought visible and undeniable infrastructural transformation to Agege.

Now, let those who are sponsoring these protests—especially Hon. Ogundimu and Hon. Adejare—come forward and account for their stewardship. For all their years in the corridors of power, what exactly can they point to as achievements in Agege? What legacy did they leave behind? Not even a toothpick project can be credited to their names in this constituency. Their tenure was marked by silence and absence. Yet today, they sponsor division and propaganda.

It is shameful that instead of contributing to development, they are fueling protests against a man whose track record speaks volumes. If the playing field were opened today for a free and fair contest in Agege, none of their candidates could defeat Obasa. That is the reality on ground.

Let it be known to the good people of Agege and the entire APC family in Lagos: Hon. Mudashiru Obasa is not the enemy; he is a builder, a performer, and a true son of the soil. All the inner roads in Agege that many are plying today were facilitated and completed through his efforts. He did not wait for the spotlight before delivering. He led and served with results.

We must not allow selfish interests to derail the progress of Agege. Leadership should be earned through service, not noise. Let the truth be told.
