
Nigeria’s leading youth football institution, Buruj Sports Academy, has confirmed its participation in the 2026 London Cup Invitational Tournament, marking another major step in its growing international footprint.
The academy, renowned for its talent development and impressive track record abroad, will embark on the UK tour immediately after completing its Nationwide League campaign next year. Buruj Sports Academy is expected to feature two teams — the U16 and U19 categories — as they aim to showcase Nigeria’s rising football talents on the global stage.Buruj’s pedigree at international youth competitions remains outstanding.
The academy won the 2017 Manchester Super Cup, clinched a double championship in both youth and men’s categories in 2018, and finished as runner-up in 2019.

These achievements have boosted the academy’s profile and cemented its status as a force in youth football.Speaking ahead of the UK tour, the CEO of Buruj Football Club and Academy, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, assured that the delegation will not only compete but also experience top-flight English football.
Players and officials will have the opportunity to watch live matches involving Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea, further enriching their international exposure.
Dr. Buruj also encouraged new students and aspiring footballers to enroll early, emphasizing that the academy operates on a first-come, first-served basis as preparations intensify.
