Building Bridges: Mayor Amaka Obi Meets with Community Women Leaders, APGA Women & Support Group

In a bid to foster collaboration and discuss community development, Mayor Amaka Obi convened a strategic meeting with community women leaders, APGA women leaders, wives of the clergy, and a support group on 11th June, 2025 .

The meeting, which held in preparation for the November 8 polls, focused on re-strategizing and mobilizing women support groups for Governor Soludo’s second tenure bid.

During her address, Mayor Amaka commended the women for their significant involvement in politics, noting that they constitute a substantial percentage of active voters due to their propensity to turn out en masse for popular candidates. She emphasized the importance of women’s mobilization, while cautioning against anti-party activities.

The mayor urged the women support groups to rally behind Governor Soludo, championing the “Vote Soludo Again” (VOSA) campaign. This appeal was made in the presence of notable figures, including APGA Chieftain, Hon Ikenna Iyiegbu (Ike Cubana), and President General of Oba Town, Engr Uzo Ejiofor (Ezeugonna).

In his remarks, Hon Ikenna Iyiegbu praised the women for attending the meeting and pledged financial support for initiatives that would enhance the women’s groups’ efforts in mobilizing support for Governor Soludo.

Engr Uzo Ejiofor, in his own contribution, encouraged the women groups to remain committed to their mandate and redouble their efforts in their various pursuits.

In a vote of thanks, Hon Lady Ifeyinwa expressed gratitude to Mayor Amaka Obi for convening the meeting. Speaking on behalf of the women, she assured that they would continue to support good governance under Governor Soludo and Mayor Amaka’s leadership.
