The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Amb. Emeni Ibe (JP, AP), has lauded the Nigeria Police Force for its remarkable show of unity and commitment to national security during the 2026 National Police Day celebration.
In a statement made available to journalists, Amb. Ibe praised the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for leading officers and citizens in a symbolic walkathon held in Abuja. He described the initiative as a commendable step toward fostering stronger police-community relations and promoting peace across the country.
According to the ONC President General, the theme of the event, “Together We Walk, Together We Secure,” reflects the urgent need for collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public in tackling security challenges.
Amb. Ibe further extended his appreciation to the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Area Commanders, and all officers of the Nigeria Police Force for their dedication, sacrifice, and continuous efforts in safeguarding lives and property.
He emphasized that the walkathon not only highlights the importance of physical fitness among officers but also serves as a unifying platform that bridges the gap between the police and the communities they serve.
The ONC leader reaffirmed his support for the Nigeria Police Force, urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies and contribute actively to building a safer and more secure Nigeria.
Amb. Ibe concluded by expressing optimism that such initiatives would strengthen trust, enhance public confidence, and promote lasting peace nationwide.
