Amb. Emeni Ibe Calls For Peaceful Resolution Of Orashi Youths Forum Presidency

Following palpable tension and anticipation, which trailed the endorsement of Engr. Harmony Igwela by youths of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni (ONELGA) for the presidency of the Orashi Youths Forum (OYF), one of the stakeholders, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, has called for peaceful resolution and adherence to constitutional processes.
While reacting to the development, Amb. Emeni Ibe (JP AP)—First President of the Orashi Youths Forum, Chairman of the Orashi Youths Advisory Board, and President General of the Orashi National Congress—called for restraint and strict compliance with the forum’s constitution.
Ibe emphasized that the incumbent president, Chiwokwa Nwaeze, should be allowed to formally constitute a Transition and Electoral Committee as stipulated by the constitution of the youth body before any endorsement is made public.
According to him, premature endorsements could generate unnecessary tension in the region, especially in view of recent security concerns, including the killing of the Youth President of the Omoku Youth Federation and rising insecurity in parts of Ahoada and Abua.
He advised that all election-related activities should temporarily rest to allow for proper institutional procedures, noting that due process remains key to sustaining the fragile peace achieved through the 2023 consent agreement involving OYF stakeholders and security agencies.
Amb. Ibe charged all the youths in the area to see peaceful resolution as the only path to achieve credible and acceptable leadership for the Orashi Youths Forum.
