The ongoing Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presents another golden opportunity for Abians to shape their future through the ballot. The exercise is open to those who have just attained the age of 18, those who lost their Permanent Voter Cards, as well as those who have never registered before. It is more than just a process, it is the foundation of leadership recruitment and democratic participation.
Governor Alex Chioma Otti, long before his election and inauguration as the Executive Governor of Abia State in May 2023, consistently emphasized the importance of good leadership. In a short time in office, he has demonstrated that with quality leadership, socio economic growth, development and prosperity of the people are not mere promises but achievable realities.
This makes it imperative for every eligible Abian who is yet to register to seize this chance and do the needful. Our collective progress depends on our active involvement, and the first step in that direction is registering to vote. Civil responsibility is not a matter of choice but an obligation, and electing leaders of our choice can only be possible when we are duly registered.
The ballot remains the strongest voice of the people. Abians, let us not waste this chance. Register now, vote tomorrow, and secure the leadership that guarantees the future we desire.
