The Distinguished Lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, has insisted that he remains a full-blooded Ogun State indigene.

Senator Yayi, who spoke on Sunday at the Isaga Day Celebration at Isaga Orile, in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun state, said his paternal ancestral origin emanated from Isaga Orile with Pahayi in Ilaro as their settlement after the 1862 Dahomey war, which splits the Isaga kingdom into different settlements.

According to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, his maternal lineage hails from Kemta Odutolu in Abeokuta which makes his ancestral lineage incontrovertible.

He said the explanation became imperative following the latest attack on his indigeneship claim ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun state.

Speaking at the Isaga Day Festival, Senator Adeola Yayi reiterated his commitment to supporting cultural development, tourism, and socio-economic growth in Ogun State.

He lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts in promoting festivals and infrastructure development, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renew Hope Agenda.

Adeola pledged to continue complementing the governor’s initiatives, emphasising the importance of unity and progress in Isaga Orile and beyond.

Speaking on the theme “Legacy of Unity and Progress,” Adeola commended the Onisaga of Isaga Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Oladele Olusoji Tella, for his leadership in promoting cultural renaissance and peaceful community development.

He highlighted the kingdom’s strides in attracting sons and daughters to contribute to the development of their homestead.

The senator highlighted the kingdom’s efforts in promoting unity, citing the Onisaga’s role in attracting sons and daughters to contribute to the development of their homestead.

Senator Adeola outlined his contributions to Ogun West, including 300 infrastructure projects, 115 road construction projects, 30 school buildings, and 32 Primary Health Care Centres.

The senator highlighted his empowerment programmes, benefiting over 50,000 constituents, including skill acquisition training, cash grants, and scholarships.

Adeola noted that Isaga Orile has benefited from his projects, particularly in road construction, solar street lights, and energy-related initiatives.

The senator urged the community to continue working together towards unity and progress.

“I will continue to complement the good works of our dear governor across the state in the interest of our people and in line with the Renew Hope Agenda.

“Under your royal leadership over the years, the Isaga Orile Kingdom has continued to witness commendable strides in cultural renaissance and peaceful community development.

“Your Royal Majesty has brought in legacies of unity by attracting and bringing together all sons and daughters of Isaga Orile from across various communities in Ogun and Lagos State and worldwide.

“I will continue to support our cultural development, particularly when it encourages tourism development and ultimately socio-economic development.

“I have facilitated the completion of about 300 infrastructure projects.

“Over 4500 tertiary institution students have benefitted from scholarships and bursaries of sums ranging from N100,000 to N200,000.

“The repairs and upgrade projects have already commenced and Isaga Orile is one of the beneficiaries.

Adeola congratulated the Onisaga on his birthday and coronation anniversary, wishing him many more years of service.

Earlier, the Onisaga of Isaga Kingdom, Oba Joseph Oladele Tella, appealed to the Senator on the construction of an ultra-modern market in Isaga Orile to attract foreign investors and economic viability of the town.
